Legana is a rural‑residential suburb in West Tamar, 12 km north of Launceston and 32 km south‑east of Beaconsfield. The 2021 census recorded 4,769 residents living in a blend of river‑front homes and newer housing along the West Tamar Highway (Route A7), which will be upgraded to four lanes by 2026.
