Loccota is a quiet rural locality within the Flinders council area of north‑eastern Tasmania, situated about 17 km south of Whitemark. With a recorded population of 20 in the 2016 census, the community enjoys a low‑density, countryside setting that reflects its meaning, an Aboriginal word for “sea‑shore.” The Bass Strait laces the western to southern edges of the suburb, offering close proximity to natural water features such as Trousers Point, Trousers Point Beach and Trousers Bay.
