Overview
Murdunna is a rural locality on the Forestier Peninsula, 36 km north‑east of Nubeena and roughly halfway along the Arthur Highway to Port Arthur. At just 6 m above sea level, it sits at the head of King George Sound on the Tasman Sea, with the western edge washed by Norfolk Bay. The 2016 census recorded 309 residents, but the population swells in summer as Hobart‐based visitors purchase holiday homes, creating a mix of permanent dwellings and seasonal retreats.
