Oldina, TAS 7325

Overview

Oldina is a small rural locality in the Waratah‑Wynyard council area of Tasmania’s North West region. Situated about 15 km south of the larger town of Wynyard, it recorded a population of 126 in the 2016 census. The name, adopted around 1911, comes from an Aboriginal word meaning “snow” and replaces the early postal name Upper Moores Plains.

The community enjoys convenient road links: Oldina Road (C237) branches off the Bass Highway and runs through the area, while Deep Creek Road (C239) marks part of the eastern boundary and Lorries Road (C235) intersects the main route. A nearby weather‑monitoring station at Locketts Road, just 1.6 km away, adds a practical amenity for residents and visitors alike.
