The Bass Highway forms the main streetscape of Redpa, running east‑to‑west through the locality and connecting it to Smithton some 42 km to the north‑east. At Redpa the C213 (Comeback Road) terminates at the highway and continues north, west and then south before rejoining the Bass Highway at Marrawah.

Redpa is a small rural community of 97 residents, originally settled in the late nineteenth century and once home to Tasmania’s last horse‑drawn police service. It lies near the foothills of Seymour Hill, Coffeys Hill and Sherstons Hill, giving the area a backdrop of modest mountain scenery.
