Rocky Cape is a small rural community in Tasmania’s North‑west and West region, split between the Circular Head and Waratah‑Wynyard councils. As of the 2016 census it had 206 residents and lies about 30 km north‑west of Wynyard. The Detention River flows through the locality and the Rocky Cape National Park occupies its north‑eastern edge, offering immediate access to coastal walking and wildlife.
