Swan Point is a small rural locality in the West Tamar council area of Tasmania, 22 kilometres south‑east of Beaconsfield. The 2016 census recorded 282 residents living beside the Tamar River Estuary, which frames the north‑western, northern and eastern edges of the suburb. Its proximity to Paper Beach, Gravelly Beach and Lightfoot Bay gives the area a relaxed, waterfront feel that has traditionally attracted seasonal shacks during the summer months.

Access is provided by Paper Beach Road, with Route C728 (Deviot Road) running along the south‑west boundary, linking the community to nearby towns such as Hillwood and Robigana. Housing development must consider the legacy of historic apple and pear orchards, which have left residual organochlorines, lead, arsenic and other contaminants in the soil, influencing the mix of newer homes and older holiday dwellings.
