Tullah sits on the shore of Lake Rosebery in the northern West Coast Range, about 111 km south of Burnie. The town is split into an older‑style northern suburb that grew from the 1900 mining settlement of Mount Farrell and a newer, purpose‑planned southern suburb created during the 1970‑1990s hydro‑electric scheme. Residents enjoy a relaxed lakeside lifestyle with ample fishing, small‑boat launch facilities and frequent sightings of wombats, wallabies and the occasional tiger‑quoll.
