Turners Beach is a small coastal town on Tasmania’s north shore with a 2021 population of 1,966. Situated almost midway between Devonport and Ulverstone, the settlement sits at the western mouth of the Forth River where fine white sand meets the Bass Strait. Residents enjoy easy access to the expansive beach, the river’s fishing opportunities and nearby natural spots such as Claytons Rivulet and Gables Park.
The main strip along the Esplanade hosts a café providore, a service station with a takeaway on Forth Road and a monthly Twilight Market featuring local producers. Sporting and community life is vibrant, with football, cricket, bowls, tennis clubs and a scouts hall, while the former caravan park has been turned into new residential housing alongside heritage homes like The Gables. Road links via the Bass Highway and Forth Road provide quick connections to the larger neighboring cities.
