Ulverstone is on Tasmania’s north coast at the River Leven’s mouth, on the Bass Highway, 21 km west of Devonport and 12 km east of Penguin. The 2021 urban population was 11,613, the largest in the state and the centre of the Central Coast Council area. Road links include the Bass Highway and the new Leven Bridge (2011) with a walking track to Turners Beach.
