Overview
Nestled 130 km north‑east of Melbourne, Alexandra is the largest town in the Murrindindi Shire with a 2021 census population of 2,801. It sits at the junction of the Goulburn Valley (B340) and Maroondah (B360) highways and is served by the nearby Alexandra Airport. Although the railway closed in 1978, the former line now forms part of the 134 km Great Victorian Rail Trail.
Residents enjoy green spaces such as Rotary Park, with barbecues, toilets and a visitor centre, and the 11‑hectare Leckie Park, home to a bowling club, playground and cenotaph.
