Beaconsfield lies 44 km south‑east of Melbourne’s CBD, straddling the Shire of Cardinia and the City of Casey. At the 2021 census the suburb housed 7,267 residents. Originally a farming settlement, it grew around the Bowman’s Inn and gained a railway station in 1879, providing a direct link to the city.
