Buffalo is a small South Gippsland town supported by dairy, sheep, goat and beef farms, alongside commuters and retirees drawn to its peaceful rural setting. The main strip still hosts a general store and post office, and the former Matthews Feed and Grain Store now operates as Pivot, supplying local agriculture.
