Drysdale is a rural township on the Bellarine Peninsula near Geelong, Victoria, with a population of over 3,700. It forms part of an urban area that, together with Clifton Springs, recorded 13,494 residents in June 2016. Community life centers on the youth music venue ‘The Potato Shed’, home of the annual Battle of The Bands festival, and several schools including Saint Ignatius College, Bellarine Secondary College’s senior campus and a Christian College campus.
Sport is strong with the Drysdale Hawks competing in Australian Rules football and cricket in the Bellarine Football League. The Bellarine Rail Trail passes through town, and the historic Drysdale Railway Station now serves as the western terminus of the tourist‑oriented Bellarine Railway beside Lake Lorne, a noted waterbird site. Heritage‑listed sites such as the Drysdale Hotel, the Stock Pound and the War Memorial contribute historic charm.
