Overview

Gordon is a small historic town of 1,393 residents (2021 Census) nestled on the undulating foothills of the Paddock Creek valley. Since the 1990s it has attracted “tree‑change” families to its large semi‑rural blocks, quiet rural feel and soaring house‑and‑land values that placed it among the nation’s top five “Bulletproof” suburbs. Main Street (Old Melbourne Road) offers a hotel with accommodation, a general store, licensed café, pharmacy, gift and hat shops, a post office, and heritage buildings such as St Patrick’s Church repurposed for residence.
