Harkaway is a semi‑rural suburb 39 km southeast of Melbourne’s CBD, nestled in the northeast corner of the City of Casey. At the 2021 census it recorded a population of 1,011, and its landscape is still defined by the early timber cottages and small‑scale farms established by German settlers in the 1850s.
