Muir Street sits within a locality that celebrates a unique piece of early‑20th‑century sound history, highlighted by the Blue Amberol cylinder records produced between 1910 and 1929. These nitrocellulose‑based discs, originally designed for the Edison Amberola, represent a long‑lived format that remains more visible today than the earlier wax cylinders.

The area’s character is further enriched by the heritage of these recordings, which were issued from the popular series beginning with number 1501 in October 1912 and concluding with number 5719 in October 1929. This historic audio legacy adds a distinctive cultural layer to the streetscape of Muir Street.
