Korumburra lies 120 km south‑east of Melbourne on the South Gippsland Highway, 227 m above sea level among rolling green hills. At the 2021 census the urban population was 3,639, and residents enjoy the Coal Creek Community Park and Museum, an Olympic‑size pool, a basketball stadium, an art gallery and a weekend tramway through a 27‑hectare open‑air heritage village.
