Mount Clear is a semi‑rural suburb on Ballarat’s southern fringe, set in the hilly Canadian Creek Valley and edged by bush and pine plantations. At the 2021 census the community numbered 3,671 residents, most living in detached single‑family homes on larger‑than‑average blocks built since the 1970s. The suburb is home to several schools, including Mount Clear Primary, Emmaus Catholic Primary, Mount Clear College and Damascus College, plus a community kindergarten, providing a full range of educational options close to home.
