Overview

Silverleaves is a small seaside settlement on Phillip Island, situated just east of Cowes in Victoria. At the 2016 census it recorded 211 residents, many of whom live in the modest fibro cottages and beach shacks that were built when roughly 250 holiday‑home allotments were laid out between 1955 and 1962. The town’s name reflects the silvery‑grey leaves of the native Coast Banksia that fringe its dunes, giving the area a tranquil, “off the beaten track” feel that has long attracted families seeking a peaceful retreat.
