Tatura is a town in the Goulburn Valley, 167 km north of Melbourne and 18 km west of Shepparton, with 4,955 residents recorded in the 2021 census. It contains a strong corporate and manufacturing base, including Tatura Milk Industries, Goulburn‑Murray Water, Jacobs Engineering and multinational processing plants, which makes it a major employer, and attractions such as Cussen Park wetlands, the Wartime Camps and the Irrigation Museum reflect its name meaning “small lagoon”.
