Overview

Burekup sits on the South Western Highway in Western Australia’s South West region, overlooking the Collie River. Originally a railway siding on the Pinjarra‑Picton line established in 1910 and known as Boorekup, the town was gazetted in 1973 at the request of the Shire of Dardanup. Set on the traditional land of the Noongar people, its name reflects the wildflower that grows locally.
