Halls Head, WA 6210
Overview
Halls Head is a coastal suburb of Mandurah that sits on the northern‑most edge of a four‑suburb island bounded by the Mandurah and Peel‑Harvey estuaries, the Dawesville Channel and the Indian Ocean. The area is largely residential, featuring a mix of standard homes and several canal estates built since the 1980s, and it remains the most‑populated of the island suburbs. Heritage is visible in Hall’s Cottage, the 1833 stone house that survived the early settlement period.
The suburb enjoys strong road links: Mary Street provides a direct route to Mandurah’s CBD and Pinjarra Road, while Old Coast Road (National Highway 1) connects residents to Perth, Bunbury and the wider region. Major north‑south arteries such as Peelwood Parade and McLarty Road support local traffic, and Transperth routes 591, 592 and 594 offer seven‑day bus service through Halls Head. Recreational amenities include the Mandurah Country Club’s golf course, opened in 1961.
