Joondalup, 26 km north of Perth’s CBD, is the main urban hub for the northern suburbs. Its CBD along Grand Boulevard and the Lakeside Joondalup shopping centre offer retail, dining and entertainment, while annual free events such as the Joondalup Festival and Kaleidoscope Festival attract visitors regionally. Green spaces include Central Park, Neil Hawkins Park and lakeside wetlands, and the suburb also hosts Edith Cowan University, TAFE, the Police Academy and the Joondalup Health Campus.
