Koondoola Avenue threads through a suburb shaped largely by 1970s development, featuring modest homes built during that decade and a streetscape bordered by the era’s brick‑faced retail hub, Koondoola Plaza. The road offers easy access to local schools, including Koondoola Primary School, Waddington Primary School and the special‑needs Burbridge School, while the nearby Koondoola Park and a series of smaller green spaces such as Waddington, Binstead and Butterworth Parks provide residents with plenty of recreation close to home.

Public transport links connect the avenue to key arterial routes like Marangaroo Drive and Mirrabooka Avenue, while the surrounding bushland preserve adds a natural backdrop to daily life. Sporting heritage remains strong, with historic junior football and cricket grounds once set at Koondoola Park and nearby reserves such as Shelvock, ensuring families have convenient options for sport and outdoor activity.
