Mira Mar, WA 6330
Overview
Mira Mar is a northeastern suburb of the City of Albany in Western Australia’s Great Southern region, gazetted in 1979. Bounded by North and Collingwood Roads to the north, Drew Street east, Symers Street west and Middleton Road south, it offers direct road links to Albany. The 2021 Census recorded 1,682 residents, up from earlier counts, and the suburb is framed by Strawberry Hill (62 m) and Craggy Bluff.
Heritage and recreation blend together locally. The Old Farm at Strawberry Hill began as a 9.7‑hectare vegetable farm for the King George Sound military settlement, later becoming the home of Albany’s first Government Resident Sir Richard Spencer, whose grave remains on site. Nearby, a simple Victorian‑Georgian house built in 1872 by Matthew Cull adds historic charm, while Cull Park offers a 1.1‑hectare green area with a bridged pond and playground equipment.
