Murdoch sits on Perth’s southern fringe within the City of Melville, bordered by Winthrop, Bateman, Kardinya and North Lake. Residential streets lie mainly north of South Street, while the south side hosts commercial precincts, two major hospitals (the private St John of God Hospital and the government‑run Fiona Stanley Hospital, opened in 2014), Murdoch University, a South Metropolitan TAFE campus and Kennedy Baptist College for years 7‑12.
