Nanga Road traces the original plan of the early‑20th‑century timber town, where Millars laid out 56 modest workers’ homes surrounded by a store, butcher, hall, billiard room and school, later adding tennis courts and a sports oval. Only one or two roads in the Lane Poole Reserve are sealed, so access along Nanga Road is mainly via unsealed tracks that connect the locality between Dwellingup and Waroona and lead to nearby campsites such as Nanga Mill and the Murray River’s natural waterfalls and rock pools.
