Overview

Tapping, a suburb of Perth within the City of Wanneroo, emerged in the early 1990s from the former Carramar estate and was officially named in 1997 to honour the pioneering Tapping family. Bounded by Joondalup Drive, Pinjar Road, Conti Road and Wanneroo Road, the area has transformed from farmland into a rapidly developing residential enclave, housing 8,946 people according to the 2011 census, with a youthful median age of 30 and modest weekly incomes.
