Torbay is a small coastal town 20 km west of Albany in the Great Southern region, set on the eastern fringe of the karri forest and framed by large granite outcrops. Fine‑white‑sand beaches such as Perkins, Muttonbird and the family‑friendly Cosy Corner are reachable by car, while the Bibbulmun Track winds along the steep hills and bayside, offering walking, picnicking and seasonal swimming lessons. The surrounding remnant tall forest and clear, tannin‑stained streams give the area a relaxed, nature‑focused lifestyle that attracts both residents and tourists.

The community relies on Albany schools via daily bus services, but also hosts the independent Woodbury Boston Primary School.
