It was officially registered with the Geographical Names Board in 2011, and on 22 November 2019 the suburb was expanded eastwards to South Creek, absorbing the Central Precinct of the St Marys Release Area. This recent expansion has broadened the local housing mix and added fresh residential streets to the area.
