Overview

Farrar sits on the traditional lands and waterways of the Larrakia people, 21 km southeast of Darwin’s CBD and within the City of Palmerston. Bounded by the Stuart Highway to the north and east and by Roystonea Avenue to the west, the suburb enjoys easy road access to the capital and to surrounding Palmerston precincts. The area was named after John Farrar, a pastoral pioneer, and was formally distinguished from the larger Gunn suburb in 1999.

Residents benefit from abundant green spaces, with Phyllis Uren, Pastry Wilson, Eric Asche, Kintore, Cunningham and Ormiston Parks all within a kilometre.
