Nestled 591 km north‑west of Brisbane and just 12 km south of the Shire centre at Biloela, Thangool is a modest rural community of 685 residents (2021 census). The town’s lifestyle revolves around wide‑open grazing country punctuated by a handful of crop fields, while a scattering of named homesteads such as Kurrajong, Peaceful Haven and Scoria provide a mix of traditional farmhouses and newer rural dwellings.
