The Gap is about 10 kilometres north‑west of the Brisbane GPO by road, placing the property roughly that distance from the CBD.
The Gap enjoys a good public bus service, with Waterworks Road providing the main arterial route that connects to neighboring suburbs and continues to Brisbane city.
Enoggera Reservoir and the Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre are close by, offering fishing, canoeing, kayaking, stand‑up paddling and bushwalking with links to the D’Aguilar Park trail network.
The Gap contains over 45 parks with sporting fields, playgrounds, barbeques and dog off‑leash areas, and the Ashgrove Golf Club is also located in the area.
