Enoggera Hill lies about 1.8 km away, and the suburb was the focus of the severe 2008 Queensland storms that impacted the area within roughly 2 km of the property.
The Gap Village shopping centre provides a range of retail and dining options, and a police station is situated on Waterworks Road within the suburb.
