Warana is a coastal suburb in the Kawana Waters urban centre on the Sunshine Coast. A coastal reserve along the foreshore extends south into Bokarina and Wurtulla, giving residents open beachfront space while residential housing lies just inland. To the south‑west the suburb contains an industrial estate, the Kawana Sewerage Treatment Plant and a marsh area, creating a mix of homes near both natural and employment zones. In the 2021 census Warana recorded a population of 3,831 people.

There are no schools in Warana, but primary and secondary options are nearby – Buddina State School to the north and Kawana Waters State College to the south. Shopping and leisure are a short drive away at Kawana Shoppingworld and the Sunshine Coast Stadium in Stockland Park. Major routes such as Nicklin Way and the Kawana bus station provide convenient road and public‑transport links to the wider Sunshine Coast region.
