Overview
Woody Point is a coastal suburb on the south‑eastern edge of the Redcliffe Peninsula, about 35 km north‑northeast of Brisbane. Bordered by Moreton Bay and Bramble Bay, it enjoys three headlands, Woody Point, Picnic Point and Scotts Point, plus a 240‑metre jetty, foreshore parks (Bicentennial and Apex) and the nearby HMQS Gayundah wreck, making it popular for fishing, sailing, canoeing and family picnics. In the 2021 Census the suburb recorded 4,548 residents, many of whom appreciate the relaxed seaside lifestyle while remaining within easy reach of the Brisbane metropolitan area.
The suburb now hosts high‑rise apartments with views of Bramble Bay alongside established homes, creating a varied housing mix. Local conveniences include a corner store, take‑aways, a medical clinic, pharmacy, post office and a selection of well‑rated restaurants such as The Belvedere Hotel and Maple Cafe. Shopping is a short drive to Margate Village (≈2 km) or Bayside Plaza in Clontarf (≈3 km), and road access is provided by the Ted Smout Highway and the Hornibrook bridge network linking the peninsula to Brisbane.
