Yarrabilba is a rapidly growing locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, with a population of over 10,000 people as of the 2021 census. It consists of a mix of newer residential neighbourhoods and open parkland, reflecting its development as a future city.
As of March 2024, Yarrabilba is made up of ten distinct neighbourhoods: The Avenues, Birnam Views, Mallee Pocket, Oak Leaf, The Parks, The Retreat, Sandstone Ridge, Sunrise Crossing, Vista, and Wickham Rise.
Before European settlement, the area was occupied by the Wangerriburra Clan and contains two traditional bora rings where ceremonial singing took place. Later, the Beaudesert railway line (1915‑1955) and the World War II military training base Camp Cable were part of the locality’s history.
In 2010 it was announced that Yarrabilba would become a future city expected to contain 20,000 dwellings and house up to 50,000 people, forming part of three new urban centres in the region.
The Darlington Parklands lie on the corner of Darlington Drive and Yarrabilba Drive, positioned between the Oak Leaf and Vista neighbourhoods, offering open green space for walking and leisure.
