According to the 2021 census, Yarrabilba had a population of 10,240 people. The area has grown rapidly from 3,580 residents in 2016.
Yarrabilba consists of ten neighbourhoods: The Avenues, Birnam Views, Mallee Pocket, Oak Leaf, The Parks, The Retreat, Sandstone Ridge, Sunrise Crossing, Vista, and Wickham Rise.
The Darlington Parklands sit between the Oak Leaf and Vista neighbourhoods on the corner of Darlington Drive and Yarrabilba Drive, a short distance north of 2 Splendour Circuit.
Before European settlement the land was home to the Wangerriburra Clan, and the name Yarrabilba means “place of song.” The Beaudesert railway line ran through the area from 1915 to 1955, and during World War II a military training base called Camp Cable was established nearby.
