Tailem Bend sits on the lower River Murray, just before the river meets Lake Alexandrina, giving residents river‑front views and easy access to the cable ferry that links the town with Jervois. With a 2021 census population of 1,705, the community is anchored by the Coorong District Council offices, a historic town hall and the Old Tailem Town Pioneer Village – Australia’s largest pioneer museum – as well as Rogers and Pine‑Camp Parks for recreation.
