Grove is a sparsely settled rural locality in the Huon Valley, stretching across about 30.8 km² of undulating farmland and forested hills. Positioned 35 km southwest of Hobart and just 7 km northeast of Huonville, the area is characterised by grazing lands, orchards and the Mountain River that threads the north‑east to south‑west, giving residents a quiet, country‑side lifestyle with easy access to the capital’s amenities.

Because Grove has few services of its own, residents rely on nearby Huonville for shopping, health and education. The Huon Highway (A6) runs the length of the locality, while secondary routes C617, C618 and C619 link the community to adjoining rural districts; there are no rail connections.
