Safety Beach is a seaside suburb on the Mornington Peninsula, 56 km south of Melbourne’s CBD, within the Shire of Mornington Peninsula. At the 2021 census it recorded a population of 6,328. The suburb offers a calm, sandy bay popular for swimming and boating, with a foreshore reserve that includes a children’s playground and shaded BBQ areas. A sailing club, established in 1967, regularly hosts state and national regattas, while golfers can play at the Mount Martha Valley Golf Club or the Safety Beach Golf Course nearby.

Housing is a blend of long‑standing homes and the newer Martha Cove residential community, a large inland harbour development that began in 2004 and has become a thriving neighbourhood. Residents also enjoy easy access to Mount Martha Airport (1.7 km away) and local leisure venues such as the Dromana Drive‑In cinema and Mount Martha Public Park.
