Ashby lies 26 km north of Perth’s central business district within the City of Wanneroo. Established in the late 1990s from a subdivision of Wanneroo and named after early landowner E E Ashby, the triangular suburb is framed by Wanneroo Road, Pinjar Road and Conti Road, with roughly 40 % of its area already built for housing.

Residents enjoy easy access to a network of green spaces – Crivelli, Carosa, Mondrian and several other parks sit within a kilometre of the centre, offering plenty of walking and family‑friendly recreation. Public transport is served by Transperth bus routes 467 and 468, which link the suburb to Joondalup and Whitfords stations along Carosa and Wanneroo Roads, providing convenient connections to the wider Perth region.
