Woombye is a rural town in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, about 100 km north of Brisbane. At the 2021 census it had 3,944 residents. The Bruce Highway forms its eastern boundary and the North Coast railway line runs through the west, with Woombye railway station at the centre. Education is provided by Woombye State School (Prep–6) and nearby private schools Suncoast Christian College and Nambour Christian College; secondary students travel to Nambour State College or Burnside State High School.
The town’s lifestyle blends history and recreation, highlighted by the historic Woombye Pub and St Margaret’s Anglican Church. Community sport thrives through the Woombye Snakes soccer club, and families enjoy attractions such as The Big Pineapple and its Wildlife HQ zoo, plus Thrill Hill Waterslide Park.
