Overview
Risdon Vale is an outer Hobart suburb on the eastern shore of the River Derwent, adjoining historic Risdon Cove. The community grew after a post office opened in 1960 and a subdivision of a few hundred homes between 1961‑63, centred south of Gardenia Road and around Waratah Road, with Risdon Vale Primary School founded the same year.
